A large amount of information is derived from communication media, it is important to figure out what is going on from the information brought by the media. Our research objective is to establish the technologies and academic disciplines for handling and managing the information using computers. These include data characterization, information extraction, data storing, index/scheme structure, data handling, semantic analysis, and context analysis to develop various applications for information retrieval, recommendation, and data engineering. These research themes should be studied in the Big data era, so that we have conducted many kinds of researches listed in our publications page, which are supported by JSPS Grants-in-Aid for Scientific Research (KAKENHI).

Student recruiting

Our researches are usually conducted in the research field of media informatics, which aims at a purposeful application of single media types and multimedia systems in various applications. It considers aspects like media technique, media design, media storage and retrieval as well as the use of media with a focus on the development of multimedia systems. If you are a self-motivated person and are interested in studying media informatics with us, please read Student Recruiting Page (EN, CN, KR) and contact us for getting further information.
